Schools are rated from A to F with A being “Exemplary” and F being “Academic Probation.” The percentage of public schools ranking A increased from 38% to 42% since last year. High schools saw the biggest jump in “Exemplary” rankings from 4% to 16%. Elementary schools continue to rank the highest overall. However, the percentage of public high schools that that rated an F fell from 49% to 7%. A majority of high schools ranked a C, or “Academic Progress.”

Only 16 school corporations had every school receive an A rating, the largest being Carmel Clay with 15 schools. 7 schools are now in their 6th year of probation, including 6 schools in the Indianapolis Public School Corporation.
